The EBLEX animal health and welfare research programme aims to:
- Develop alternative strategies to reduce reliance on chemical control of gastro-intestinal worms, such as breeding and management solutions.
- Develop new management approaches and techniques to assess the health and welfare of livestock, permit pre-clinical diagnosis, and prompt early action.
- Develop new and/or improve current methods to tackle external parasites, e.g. sheep scab, which are cost-effective and safe for the operator, the animal and the environment.
